The Power of God’s Word

By His mighty Word, God formed earth and sky,
He scattered the stars in the heavens on high.
With words full of mercy, the weary find rest,
For every Word spoken by God will be blessed.

The words of the Lord are more precious than gold,
Their glory and truth through the ages are told.
They offer the hopeless a bright ray of light,
And lead humble sinners from darkness to right.

His Word is far greater than man can achieve,
It strengthens the heart of all who believe.
Though knowledge increases and technology grows,
Mankind still forgets the great God who knows.

When reason had left me, and I knew not what to do,
His comforting voice said, “George, I still love you.”
His Word calmed my fears and brought peace to my soul,
For only the Saviour can heal and make whole.

The angels in Heaven declare with one voice:
“His words are eternal—be glad and rejoice!”
Because of His mercy, so faithful and true,
The Lord will remember and care about you.

The day will soon come when our journey must end,
And each one will stand before Christ the great King.
So answer this question before life is through:
Will He be your enemy—or Saviour and Friend to you?
